If you love croissants, and you love French toast then this will be a delicious marrying of favorites. This Croissant French toast recipe came about while trying to find something to make for breakfast and celebrate my mom while doing so. It came out perfect!
This recipe is cost effective as well, using everyday items that you likely have at home. Feel free to switch up the recipe a bit. You can use bananas, apples, or any fruit you would like. I added a ginger syrup
Ingredients :
1 cup of mixed berries
4 Eggs
4 croissant
1 /2 cup oat milk ( can use a different kind of milk)
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 Tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions:
Set the oven at 375 . Bake croissant to take out some of the moisture. About 7 - 10 minutes in the oven is perfect. In a bowl add eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, and the pinch of salt. Then add the oat milk and half a cup of brown sugar. Wisk all together in the mixing bowl.
Oil the pan that the dish will be baked in with butter or can spray oil.
Dip the toasted croissants into the milk mixture than add to the pan the dish will be made in. repeat until all are wet with mixture. Take the rest of the mixture and pour on top of the croissant in the baking dish. You want to go ahead and wrap this up and refrigerate it for 4-24 hours. ( best if left for 24- hours)
After letting it sit in the fridge. Add to oven uncovered for 20 minutes. Let sit and cool for 10 - 15 minutes. Then, add our powdered sugar, and our berries. I had some frozen berries, you can do fresh berries. I used a mix of cherries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries. Lastly, top off with a couple of dollops of whipped cream.
Serve and enjoy!
